My Agamograph

 For our art that we have been working on, we have made an Agamograph. What it does is it shows one picture then  when you move, it shows a new picture. Watch the video to see my Agamograph.
 It was really hard for me when the pastel always smudged everywhere and it was too fat too fit in tiny spaces

Mixed to Improper

This week I and a few others and the teacher worked on converting Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions. This Show Me shows you how to convert  Mixed to Improper. I hope you can try this later and get the answer. I thought it was quite easy once I had learnt how to do it because before I didn't have a good understanding.  The thing that helped me most was using cut up circles to show what was happening.

Improper Fractions to mixed

This week I and a few others and the teacher worked on converting Improper fractions to Mixed Numbers. this Show Me shows you how to convert Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers.  The three questions you have to ask were:

1. How many pieces make a whole?
2. How many wholes can you make?
3. What's left over?

Homework Week 5

For this week's homework we had to :

- Choose a marine animal (it could be anything - a type of fish, shellfish, mammal, coral etc)
- Find out some basic information about the animal - what it looks like, how big it gets, any distinguishing features.
- Find out where it lives (is it a deep-sea animal, live in tropical waters etc),  what it likes to eat etc
- Find out about this animals status - is it endangered? critically endangered?

I think this homework was fun.

Homework Week 4

For our homework this week we had to do a presentation on Japan because we had japanese students coming and visiting our school. We learnt a lot about Japan with doing our homework on this country. When the Japanese students came we showed them around our school and they told us a bit about thier country and we did the same as well. It was fun having the Japanese students because we learnt alot about thier culture.

Kensukes Kingdom map

We as a whole class are reading a book by Micheal Morpurgo called kensukes Kingdom.It is about a boy who goes on a boat around the world with his mum and dad and his dog.While they were sailing Micheal falls overboard while his parents were sleeping and he dissapear's. We had to do this on google drive on presentation mode.Then we had to find a map. Next we drew lines and moved them around where we wanted them to go. Lastly we animated the lines and words. I think it was fun doing this.

Kensukes Kingdom Arguement!

Since we are reading the book "Kensukes Kingdom by Micheal Morpurgo" we have created an argument with For and Against's if you would go sailing around the world on a yacht. I am with for because I would go sailing around the world.For this our Success Criteria was to have.....

-3 positives and 3 negatives
-Alternate good then bad
-Use phrases to show a different point of view
-First Sentence-what we are arguing about
-Conclusion-say there was good and bad points
-Conclusion-personal opinion

My Speech

For our speech this year we got to choose what we get to write about, so I chose to write about good excuses for not doing your homework.  I wanted to write a persuasive speech and aim it at kids my age.  I tried to think of good examples for each reason.  I think I had good expression when I presented this and good humour.    

Dare,Dream,Do

For our homework we watched a Sir Peter Blake video on Leadership Skills and we had to watch the video and write down the main points they talked about and then we had to explain what that Leadership Skill means and after that we had to think about what we can do on being a leader for this week.

Tonal Landscapes

For art we did a tonal landscape picture with our student teacher Mrs Paton. For this we did a normal colour in the middle then made that normal colour lighter or darker.It was fun to do the painting.

Show me

On the Ipad there is an app called Show Me and we can create something and it will write what you wanted it to write. It is useful for writing in how you did one of your maths problems.Above is how I converted a number to words.

Illusion Art

This is the Art we have been working on lately.It is called Illusion Art because of the criss-cross and   the big circles that look like they curved and 3d. Some of it was hard when it came to the circles and we had to colour around it.I think it looks cool when it is finished. 

Homework - Central America

 For this weeks homework we discovered about a country that Mr Fitz has visited. I did Mexico,Costa Rica and Guatemala.

Monet Gardens

This term for our art we did Monet Paintings.First we taped on masking tape as a fence.Next we sponged on yellow and green paint and we had to remember to get a little bit of paint otherwise it will look like it is just solid colours,and also we had to remember to hop our sponges not drag them along the page.The next step was we did a drag techniquie the sky,We had to load up the end of the cardboard with paint  and drag it along the page.After that we sponged on the bushes and same thing, we had to hop and get a little bit of paint. Next we flicked bits of paint for the pond and we had to  get a little bit of dark blue and a little bit of light blue and also a little bit of white so when we flicked on the paint it has a little bit of each. Next we sponged on stepping stones or a path and then did little flowers with the end of the paint brush.Finally we peeled off the masking tape and had a white fence.It was quite hard in some parts and easy on others but overall it was really fun.

Bridge to Terabithia

We have just learnt to use a new app on the I Pad called Word foto when you put in Photo and type in words that you would like to use.It is fun with all the effects and photos that we used for it.We used photos from the book Bridge To Terabithia, But overall I choose Leslie because she is my favourite character.

Maths!!!!!!!!!

We have been learning how to convert numbers into words and words into numbers.When we did a test on this I didn't get it at all,but since we learnt where to put the commas and how to say the numbers it was much,much easier.

How Rubbish is Affecting Thousands

We had to write an explanation about How Rubbish Is Affecting Thousands.We had to write a Intro, paragraphs and a conclusion.It was hard at some parts and easy on others.I think the finished product looks good. 

Bridge to Terabithia - Jess

After reading the book,(Bridge to Terabithia)we wrote a timeline of it(above).All of the activities we have done,we have been focused on the characters in the book.I have gone from chapter to chapter of what has happened.I liked the book Bridge to Terabithia.I think Leslie's purpose in the book was to make it more interesting.The timeline above is how Jess has changed.

Huge numbers

For Maths used a website called Maths Cats.We typed in a number and down the bottom it said
the number itself so we can know how to say the number in words.The teacher wanted us to learn a bit about big numbers so when we go to intermediate we will have an idea about huge numbers.What was tricky for me was some of the big numbers,trying to say them.I think I need more practice on giant numbers because it was tricky on some parts, ok on others and great on other bits.I had fun on this activity and learnt lots.

Bridge to Terabithia - Obituary

Obituary for Leslie Burke

We are all very shocked and sad for the death of Leslie Burke. She was drowned in a steam off the Burke's farmland on the outskirts of Washington D.C on the 6th of May. She was 10 at the time she drowned but she was an Adventurous and Imaginative girl. She was very different from the other girls at Lark Creek Elementary as shewore cutoff jeans and  T-Shirts as the other girls wore dresses. As for her death she was swinging on a old rope across an over flowed creek and the rope snapped and she hit her head on something and went unconscious..........and drowned. She had just moved into the old Perkins Place with her Mum-Judy and her Dad-Bill.Leslie formed a great friends with Jess her next door neighbour and together they made a friendship that was awesome even though Jess was a boy and Leslie was a girl.They made a magical land across the creekbed.As for the funeral,the dates will be announced later.One of Leslie's favourite things to do was go SCUBA Diving,she adored it.For school she was all the teachers pet.Judy andBill are great writers but are still very depressed.

So So So Sad

In the story Bridge to Terabithia Leslie drowns in the overflowed stream,so we have to write an Obituary for Leslie(which is above).We have to write all the details about her,and when the funeral dates are and what she was like.The whole time we have been reading Bridge to Terabithia we have been focused on the characters in the book and what they have been described like.
